Spring Treffen - The Broadmoor at Colorado Springs

Image
This year the Porsche Club of America Spring Treffen was held at the Broadmoor Luxury Resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Jeff and I caravanned with another couple from South Carolina to Colorado Springs. Driving straight through St. Louis Missouri and stayed with friends of theirs in Princeton, Kentucky. If you love open, flat, wind swept prairies then the scenery between St. Louis and our next stop in Salina, Kansas is for you.  I think I slept through most of that day. But this, this was our first real glimpse of the mountains from near Peyton, Colorado.  It's been at least 20 years since I was in Colorado.  Believe me, I let out a big sigh when I saw them. It's not the best photo but it still makes my heart sing!  The mountains there just touch something in my soul.   The Broadmoor Resort  is beautifully situated with stunning views of Pikes Peak over it small lake. The Staff is Top Notch! Every single employee was gracious, polite, helpful...

2021 Year Review

Spring Treffen - Scottsdale, Arizona In early May we took three days to leisurely drive out to Scottsdale for the Porsche Spring Treffen.  Treffens are smaller, shorter duration, more laid back, and way less competitive that Parade.  I think we enjoy the Treffen more for all those reasons. Petrified Forest Not a lot of 'forest' at the Petrified Forest.  And this part of Arizona is mostly flat. And brown. And hot.  The Targa was great to travel in.  The back 'seat' is perfect for storing a jacket & hat, compared to the Cayman where every extra thing must be stored out of reach in the Frunck or within reach on the floor by the passengers feet.  Both cars are incredibly comfortable on long trips. We did enjoy the drive.  Lots of open car weather. Flagstaff Sedona Oak Creek The further north we went the more interesting the scenery was.  It really is some spectacular country. We made a short side trip to Winslow.  Stood on the Corner....
