2021 Year Review
Spring Treffen - Scottsdale, Arizona
In early May we took three days to leisurely drive out to Scottsdale for the Porsche Spring Treffen. Treffens are smaller, shorter duration, more laid back, and way less competitive that Parade. I think we enjoy the Treffen more for all those reasons.
Petrified Forest
Not a lot of 'forest' at the Petrified Forest. And this part of Arizona is mostly flat. And brown. And hot. The Targa was great to travel in. The back 'seat' is perfect for storing a jacket & hat, compared to the Cayman where every extra thing must be stored out of reach in the Frunck or within reach on the floor by the passengers feet. Both cars are incredibly comfortable on long trips.
We did enjoy the drive. Lots of open car weather.

The further north we went the more interesting the scenery was. It really is some spectacular country.

There isn't much in Winslow except the Corner (which isn't even a whole building), restaurants and tourist shops. We had lunch and a walk around and continued on our way home.
I cut my hair super short especially for the Arizona trip. It was SO much easier!

The Hush Cuban Cafe, Dillard, GA (try the Lunch Pot!)
The Blue Ridge Parkway is practically in our backyard.

I think that is Grandfather Mountain in the background
Straightaway Café, Black Mountain, NC (the Bacon Blue Burger w/ jalapeño relish !!!)

The annual Porsche Parade was once again at the French Lick Resort, Indiana. It's a wonderful venue and is one of the few that can comfortably accommodate a group of this size. Over 900 cars and 2,000 people attended this year.
This year was the 65th Parade. They held a Historic Display with car models from all the years. We were asked to contribute our Targa to the display.
The weather was varied and this event display was held in the underground garage but it wasn't a total wash-out.My brother and his wife recently purchased a preowned 968 and joined the Club. And since they really don't condone street racing our cars, the big boys did some off-road racing ...
And took 1st (and Fastest Time of the Day) and 3rd. A good time was had by all.
There are always some interesting wraps

Our Local Upstate Area held a Summer BBQ at Riverain Farm in Travelers Rest, SC. It is a beautiful event venue. Porsche of Greenville brought out several new electric Taycan's for us to test drive.
